§ 30. Имя существительное

  1. Назовите известные вам определители имен существительных (determiners).
  2. Определите, являются ли данные существительные а) одушевленными или неодушевленными, б) личными или неличными.
    Anna, hedgehog, sand, surname, parrot, girlfriend, countrywoman, freshman, hamster, peace, animal, bird.
  3. Назовите определители данных имён существительных и части речи, к которым они относятся. Переведите на русский язык.

§ 31. Personal and Posessive Pronouns

  1. Write corresponding personal (in nominative and objective case) and possessive pronouns (conjoint and absolute forms).

§ 32. Demonstrative pronouns

  1. а) Make up sentences with the following nouns.
    Model: This is snow.

б) Make the sentences negative.
Model: This isn’t snow.

  1. Make 10 sentences in English with the vocabulary under study and to be-phrases in the present simple tense. Write the Russian translation and let other students translate the sentences into English.

  1. Think of some dialogues to illustrate all the proverbs of the unit. Don’t tell other students which proverb it is. Let them guess the proverb.

  5. Presentation. Make up a story (no fewer than 200 words) using the vocabulary under study and to be-phrases in the present simple tense. Write out key words for your presentation. Make a presentation or a collage using only the key words and some pictures (or slides). Remember that there shouldn’t be more than 10% of the text in the visual aids.
  6. Get prepared for the following vocabulary games using the vocabulary under study.
    Hot Seat. Студенты делятся на две команды. Два студента (по одному от каждой команды) садятся лицом к группе и спиной к доске. На доске записывается группа слов для каждой команды. Другие студенты по одному садятся напротив студента из своей команды на Hot Seat и пытаются ему помочь отгадать слово на доске.     Pictionary. На отдельных карточках пишутся слова по изучаемой теме и прячутся в мешок. Группа делится на две команды, и доска разделяется на две половины. Один студент из каждой команды берёт одну карточку и начинает рисовать написанное неа ней слово. Первая команда, которая правильно угадает слово, побеждает. Если рисунок завершен, а слово не отгадано, другой член команды занимает место «художника».
